Our History
1968 - Our founder, Les, made the move to Lake Havasu back in 1968 at the request of his doctor. He had several heart attacks in the early to mid-sixties and he was advised to move to someplace less stressful (he lived in Phoenix at the time). It appears that he made the right decision.
The move ended up being fortuitous not only for Les and his family but equally important for Lake Havasu. He became very active in the growth and development of Lake Havasu.
1972 - Les recognized a need to support the people in Lake Havasu City with developmental disabilities. Les and other members of the community began laying the foundation of our organization. One year later, New Horizons was open to the community!
2000 - After several years of service in First United Brethren Church, New Horizons built their current facility.
